I have been all over the place! I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and lived in the Shenandoah Valley, VA until I was 10. I then moved back to ABQ where I graduated from High School. I attended UNM for a year and then transferred to Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, OK.
I went to Seminary in MS where I received a Masters in Divinity (M.Div) in 1998. After graduating from Seminary, My wife, Annette and I moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and started a new church. After establishing this church, we left in 2000 and moved to Sedona, AZ to become an Associate/Youth Pastor.
While in AZ I applied for and was accepted to a one year Doctoral Scholarship at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky. After finishing the course work, my family and I moved back to ABQ in 2003, planted a church, wrote a dissertation on leadership and Biblical Preaching and graduated in 2005 with a D.Min.
After graduating from Asbury, we moved to Texas to pastor a church in the Dallas area. After a great 4 years of tripling the church and growing the budget to nearly $900k, our family and I moved to the position of Dean of Online Learning at OKWU in July 2014. In 2014, I became the Director of our new Masters of Arts in Theology and Apologetics program where I was able to devote even more time to teaching.
In July 2018, I returned to the pastorate in Tucson, AZ where I am the Lead pastor of a Wesleyan Church. I continue to be an adjunct professor at OKWU and absolutely love the opportunity that God has opened up for me to be back in the Pastorate.
Devon and Annette have two boys- Micah and Levi. Both boys attend Oklahoma Wesleyan University.
